As digital photography began to become more prevalent, mixed media artist and photographer Henry Lopez began to use his scanner in place of the darkroom to explore scanograms. He has created an extensive body of compelling work over this time period.

For this image Henry used burnt acetate paper, which he then forms into a head mask.  The body is made of cement glue that is poured over the glass of the scanner.  Once dried Henry stamps the body with screaming heads, symbolizing the sickness and omens the Medicine Man captures.
